What made this ad campaign so unusual is the fact that the campaign chose to focus on the positive aspects and accomplishments from Reagan's previous term. There was no opponent bashing. The candidate only  showed up in a small photo at the end and that was the only time his name appeared on the screen in this 1-minute ad. Reagan's name was only said one time during the ad as well. 

Given that Reagan was a former movie star, good speaker, and attractive person, it was also a surprising choice for them to make not putting images and video of him in the ad but instead using Americana images. The risk paid off because Reagan got re-elected for another term.

This video is about Scottish guys trying to go the eleventh floor in an elevator with voice recognition technology. They try so hard to say "eleven" in an American accent but fail to get the elevator to move. This is so funny and clever. People of any accent can appreciate the humor behind this. The voice over talent for the "elevator" is a female American. This video illustrates how people with a thick accent get misunderstood and shows the weaknesses in voice activation or recognition technology. It also humorously demonstrates that no matter what your purpose is for voice over, wether it be in a commercial or an elevator, it is important to get someone that is able to be understand clearly.

If you know anyone that is Scottish, you should share this with them. They will love this as much as you do. If you are sensitive to foul language this video isn't for you but it is hilarious!!! This video pokes fun of the Siri program on Apple products. The actor requests Siri to help him find a place to get a Jam sandwich and a beer. What Siri interprets is priceless and the frustration on the actor's end is palpable. No matter where in the world you are from or what accent you have, this video is relatable because we have all been there with voice activation technology. Sometimes it works but mostly it doesn't. This video is a great example of how a spot can be memorable because it is relatable and funny.

This ad made me cry so hard I was hyperventilating. It is one of the best ad campaigns I have ever seen and completely nails the bond between a person and their pet. I don't want to ruin it for you by saying too much. You simply must watch it. It is a powerful message about organ donation and bonds between souls. There isn't much dialogue in the spot. The video does all the talking. This shows the power of video telling a story. You don't necessarily need voice over, text or dialogue for an ad to be powerful. Sometimes the images or video tell the story best, especially if you can appeal to the viewer's emotions.

Since it is a Presidential election year, I thought I would comment on various campaign ad strategies from the pat and the present. My first review is the ad campaign for the 1984 Reagan-Bush re-election. What made this ad campaign so unusual is the fact that the campaign chose to focus on the positive aspects and accomplishments from Reagan's previous term. There was no opponent bashing. The candidate only  showed up in a small photo at the end and that was the only time his name appeared on the screen in this 1-minute ad. Reagan's name was only said one time during the ad as well.
